CURRICULUM VITAE

Dr. Matricoti graduated from the University of Bologna in 2008. After earning her degree, she completed a program in cytopathology at the universities of Bologna, Padua, and Perugia, followed by a three-year dermatology program at the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies at the University of Vienna. In 2016, she began a residency program (a European-recognized specialization) in veterinary dermatology, which she completed in 2019. In the same year, she passed the final exam, earning the title of European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology (DiplECVD).

During her training, she completed numerous externships at referral centers for dermatology across Europe and the United States. She currently works exclusively as a veterinary dermatologist, collaborating with several clinics in Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, and Veneto, as well as with the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Bologna. She is an instructor for dermatology courses and is involved in training veterinarians in this field. Since 2019, she has been responsible for the dermatology seminar for veterinary students at the University of Pisa and the postgraduate clinical training (rotational internship) in dermatology at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Bologna.

In 2022, she was in charge of the dermatology course for the specialization school at the University of Pisa. Additionally, she coordinates the dermatology group for VetPartners and actively collaborates with the first Italian portal dedicated to veterinary dermatology by publishing open-access articles. She is a speaker at conferences and an author and co-author of scientific publications in national and international journals. She is a member of the Italian (SIDEV) and European (ESVD) Veterinary Dermatology Societies.

The consultancy service offered by Dr. Matricoti is aimed at dogs and cats with skin, coat, ear, and nail issues. It includes, in addition to the consultation, various diagnostic tests when necessary, including microscopic, cytological, and bacteriological exams, allergy testing, and skin biopsies. If possible, it is recommended to bring the dog or cat fasting (for at least 12 hours) and to avoid applying any medication to the skin or bathing the dog for two days prior to the consultation.
